Surge protection devices as a learning guide for DB Training

Weidmüller supplies sample boards to DB Training for employee training. Surge protection can now be explained in an even more concrete form.

Progressive automation and the ongoing development of more efficient, but also more sensitive communication between tracks, signal boxes and control centres are the everyday business

of the DB Group (Deutsche Bahn AG).

A growing concern is the provision of safeguards against environmental influences such as lightning strikes and the resulting surge voltages. Protection devices ensure that delayed trains, damaged equipment and inoperative signalling – and the considerable economic losses they may incur – are prevented.

Demonstrate surge protection in a more practical manner

There is a growing need to provide training to the technicians responsible for risk management. DB Training, the qualification and consulting provider for the DB Group, has therefore made surge protection an increasingly important element of its training programmes.

Weidmüller offers a wide range of surge protection products for industrial equipment and has made available sample boards for this purpose. Training is provided above all to employees who are responsible for controlling the route network – thanks to the boards, course content can now be demonstrated in a more practical manner and applied directly.
