Projects within the framework of leading-edge cluster activities in the
"Intelligent Technical Systems OstWestfalenLippe" technology network

The “Intelligent Technical Systems OstWestfalenLippe” leading-edge cluster is a trailblazer for Industry 4.0. With its Self-X-Pro, InnovIIT and IASI projects, Weidmüller is heavily involved in the research process and is thus making a key contribution to new, more flexible production systems.

The InnovIIT project – Innovative automation devices by means of Industrial IT

In co-operation with the Institute for Industrial Information Technology

(inIT), Weidmüller is developing technologies to enhance availability through intelligent condition monitoring. At the same time, it is aiming to reduce the amount of engineering work required for decentralised automation systems by taking model-based design approaches.

The Self-X-Pro project – Self-optimising production systems

As an “Internet of Things” initiative, together with its research partners (the University of Paderborn, Bielefeld University and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology) Weidmüller has developed a solution for the self-optimisation of stamping and bending machines, which can be used to independently correct irregularities in the production process.

To the "it's OWL" contribution:  Efficient and reliable forming processes

The IASI project – Intelligent drive and control technology for energy-efficient intralogistics

Together with Lenze and the Institute for Industrial Information Technology (inIT), Weidmüller is working on technologies to enhance energy efficiency through model-based analysis methods and self-optimisation concepts for energy management.
